Monsoon in Mumbai!!

Monsoon in Mumbai!!

Ah! the smell of rains is a much delight for me. As it pours down from the clouds to the ground, the different aroma just refreshes the brain. As much awaited rains pour down to the earth which has been heated due to the summer. Its much relief for us who have been waiting for this rains to cool down the temperature.

When it comes to rains and that too in Mumbai, there are much more things to be talked upon, like the traffic, the rail snarls, highway jams, and much more…. as this is India and you have to be ever ready for every season.

But, here, I shall focus on the nature and its aspects, the great scene and views of mountains and the drops of waters falling through the window roofs. The waterfall from the mountains and the greenery all around. If you are an Indian and you are reading this, you must have already experienced all those things which I just mentioned, but if you are a foreigner, then I must say you should visit India, especially Mumbai, to have your experience in rains. You will enjoy the climate as well as the soothing rains!!

Crawford Market.

One of the oldest and the busiest market in Mumbai. You will find chores and hustle throughout the year here.

If you visit mumbai, its a must visit place. Around 1km away from Mumbai CST station. Located in the heart of city. You can find every article of your use here. From bags to shoes, from fruits to vegetables and much more.

1 more thing I must say, the nasty traffic here is a menace but who cares if you are a wanderlust.

Mumbai – the City of Dreams!

[Pic Details – Air India Bldg, Trident Hotel Bldg can be seen in the pic, Nariman Point, Mumbai! (Shot by me with canon1200D)].

I was thinking today that it has been a long time I havent written a blog, so i thought i should give it a try and write something as it is good to express your thought through your pen, people love reading and those who cannot express their thought can make their way using your words. Choosing a topic was a tedious task, then suddenly, “Mumbai”, hit my mind, hence I started to write what my experience about it.

“Mumbai meri Mehbooba hai!!”, Aur mehbooba se koi zyada der dur nahi reh sakta!!” That’s the same case with me, I cannot stay away from Mumbai. My Saturday and most probably Sunday evenings are spent here, in the heart of mumbai.

If you ask about my favorite places where I would like to hangout in mumbai, My first answer to this would be “Marine Drive” and “Nariman Point”. As I am a passionate photographer, I love capturing the #sunset and #landscapes, hence its very easy to find such scenery on the places I just mentioned. Secondly, if you ask me, where else, I would not hesitate to mention “Mohammed Ali Road”, “Dongri”, “Nagpada” and lastly, “Bhaucha Dhakka”(Town side). As you may find out over the internet and also in through many people, the former places have good eateries and lovely place to go through the old architecture which constitutes old Bombay, (“Mumbai” was formerly called as “Bombay”). A quote came to my mind just now as I was writing this, (It reads, “Mumbai is a place, Bombay is an Emotion!!”).

As my I have been born and brought up in Bombay, my major time has been spent here roaming on the streets and gully of the town. The typical, Bambaiya language spoken here, is also a fun, I normally, enjoy speaking it. Being fluent in urdu, english and hindi, “Bambai ki bhasha bolne ka alag maza hai mamu :P!!”  You will find many people speaking the bambaiya bhasha in the nukkad of the gully, which is a fun ti listen and enjoy. I would love to mention some phrases, “Kya bol rela hai baap!!”, “Guru kuch to jhol hai!!”, “Chal Bhantai party de!!”, “Mamu bheje ki hata mat!!”, “Bass kya bhai bharosa nai haii!!”, “Chal chal hawa aane de!!”, “Kya aajkal dikhte nahi tum bhai!!” and the list continues….hahahhaha.

If you are a food lover, than you are always welcome at Pydhonie, Mohammed Ali Road, Dongri, Byculla and Mazgaon. There is a very fine eatery below Hamidiya Masjid, known as “Sikandari Hotel”, famous for its Chaanp and Fry Potatoes. You can find innumerable open hotels in the Mohammed Ali Road lane, near Suleman Usman Mithaiwala, another gem at the same place for sweets and snacks. If you wanna try some arabian or mughal food, try kebsa biryani at Afzal’s, at Mazgaon, Also, Persian Darbar(Byculla), is also a very nice place to eat finger licking food. I would also like to mention about the delicious biryani prepared at Jaffer bhai’s Delhi darbar, located at Dongri. If you come to dongri, do not forget to eat the local khichda and kebab pav near char null.

If you are a wanderlust, there are innumerable places you can visit and hangout. Like Haji Ali, Mahim, Bandra, Gateway of India, Girgaum Chowpatty, list is too long, you can check it over internet, these are the places I love hanging out with friends.

Here are some of the pics which are all captured by me, I told you earlier I am a passionate photographer, though a beginner, “Shayri aur photography mera shauq hai”.  I love capturing nice scenes. A photographer should capture what his mind speaks, and I do it. I hope you will enjoy the pics and the blog.

Keep reading there is more to come,

Photography – Love at First Sight!!

Photography!! Ah, the  word itself refreshes my brain, no matter how much tired I am, I will definitely shoot and try my level best for the best picture. Today, Many apps are available in the market which can digest your shakily taken pic to transform it into a superb shot! But in my view, Originality doesn’t come by using filters! If you think photography is just angling your view and pressing the shoot button, than my dear, you are absolutely wrong!

Photography is an art. A passionate photographer just transforms his imagination into the snapshots. You should have an image already built in your head, which you can print using the camera. But for doing this, you should know how to shoot and what to shoot. Just clicking random pics, applying some instagram filters, wont make you a good photographer. You should apply some tactics and more importantly some skills to shoot.

Using a DSLR isn’t a tough job, but printing your imagination is! Today even a middle class person can afford a DSLR, but that doesn’t mean he becomes a photographer just because he uses DSLR to shoot!! Wearing a Super model’s look alike dress, doesn’t convert you into a super model, in fact, if you don’t know talking skills, your all dressing goes into vain. Similarly, the same goes for photography. Never just aim and click the shoot button, but pause, take your time, observe the subject, the theme, the light available, the scene around, the exposure to light, the complexion of the person you are clicking, in fact, everything should be contrast to one another, even a single blur of any object may ruin your efforts.

I love wander-lusting and travelling, and to the fullest, I love Palaces and very much fond of historic places. Recently, I visited Udaipur’s, It was a very nice experience shooting with a DSLR for the first time. Almost most of the shot I clicked, I had to re-take 2-3 times, as many times my hands shook while capturing the image which ruined the pic. But finally, I was able to manage and click some of the moments clearly. But as I said it was my first experience, hence I cannot say whether I clicked best or worst, but yes, I am surely trying to improve with the basics to shutters and exposures.

Most of the time I don’t have the DSLR with me, but yes thanks to the mobile phones, they are truly a boon to photography lovers like me. I carry on my work of capturing images whenever I get a chance, with my mobile phone(My wife actually hates it, as she always say, “Lo chalu ho gaya tumhara photo session!! lol!!) But what can i do, i cannot resists myself from capturing those lovely scenes of sunsets and landscape scenery!!

I have whole lot of pics gallery on my Instagram account @iamfaisalkhatri, follow and check more.
